How do I watch videos on my television?

Before you start:

  1. Identify the type of casting that your device has:
    1. Apple Devices - use AirPlay protocol to cast
    2. Android devices - use Chromecast protocol to cast
  2. Ensure your Smart TV has Airplay or Chromecast capabilities or that you have an external casting device connected to the TV
  3. Be sure your TV’s casting features have been enabled. You can often find these in the setting menus.
  4. Connect your device (phone, tablet, laptop) to the same wifi as your TV or streaming device. You cannot use cellular data.
  5. If your two devices have casting capabilities activated and are compatible with each other, you should see one of the two icons at the bottom of the workout video screen.

  1. Select the icon and choose the device you would like to cast to
  2. Press play to start your video

⚠️ If your device goes to a locked screen during casting or mirroring, the video playback may disconnect. To avoid being disconnected, be sure to turn off auto screen lock or sleep settings.

If you do not see a cast/airplay icon at the bottom of the video screen in the app, you do not have two compatible devices activated. Head HERE for more troubleshooting tips

See the articles for Roku, Chromecast and Firestick for more support on casting to these devices.

💡Does your smart TV or device have a built in internet app available? If so, there is no need to cast. You can use the internet browser to login at app.heatherrobertson.com

If you do not have a smart TV or casting device (Roku, Chromecast, Firestick, etc):

You can use a hard-wired option by purchasing a cable that will connect your device directly into your TV’s HDMI input.
