How to use the video player

The video player is designed to give you smooth playback, flexible controls, and easy navigation through every workout. This guide explains all the player features and what to do if your videos buffer, freeze, or don’t play smoothly.

Video Player Controls


  1. Restart — Instantly jump back to the beginning of the workout.
  2. Skip Forward / Backward — Jump ahead or rewind by 10 seconds using the arrow icons.
  3. Play / Pause — Tap the play icon to start and tap again to pause.
  4. Timeline Markers — Jump directly to the warm-up, cool-down, or start of each circuit.
  5. Volume Control — Adjust or mute sound.
  6. Settings Cogwheel — Options vary depending on device and browser.
  7. Casting OptionsAirPlay and Chromecast icons will appear here when available.
  8. Full Screen Mode — Select the expand icon to go full screen.
  9. Skip Workout Button — Already warmed up? Jump straight to the first circuit.
  10. Dotted Progress Bar — Shows how far along you are in the workout.
  11. Music Icon — Toggle background music on/off while keeping timer alerts active.

Troubleshooting video playback

How to fix playback issues. If your videos buffer, freeze, or stutter, follow the steps below.


1. Check your internet connection

  • Make sure no one on your network is streaming heavy content (YouTube, Netflix, gaming, etc.)

    Run a speed test at speedtest.net.

    If speeds seem low:

    • Toggle Wi-Fi off and on
    • Restart your router
    • Move closer to your router

2.  Browser troubleshooting

  • Fully close and relaunch your browser.
  • Make sure your browser is up to date.
  • Clear cache, cookies, and browsing history.
  • Test playback in another browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox).

3. Device troubleshooting

  • Restart your device.
  • Ensure your operating system is up to date.
  • Close apps or tabs using up bandwidth.

4.  Adjust video settings

  • Open the Settings cogwheel in the video player.
  • Choose a lower resolution (e.g., 1280×720) if your connection is unstable.

Note: Resolution control is not available on iOS or Safari — these automatically optimize playback.

FAQ


Can I download videos?

Downloading is not available at this time. All videos are streaming to ensure the best quality and updates.


How do I play my own music?

If you'd like to play your own music you can turn off the workout's background music by tapping the music icon in the top right or in the settings in the bottom right of the video player. The interval beeps will still play. Then, you can play your favorite tunes from another device, like a Bluetooth speaker.


Why don't I see a casting icon on the video player?

How do I turn on closed captioning?

The video player in the app does not have built in closed captioning however, if you use Google Chrome browser you can turn on the closed captioning there:


  1. Go to Google Chrome settings menu
  2. Select Accessibility
  3. Toggle on live caption
  4. Press play on the guide video

This will provide live closed captioning for you. You can toggle it off from the same menu whenever you need.


Are the videos available in other languages?

The videos are filmed in English, however if you use Google Chrome browser, you can turn on closed captioning and have them translated into the language of your choice:


  1. Go to Google Chrome settings menu
  2. Select Accessibility
  3. Toggle on live caption in English
  4. Toggle on live translate
  5. Select your desired language

This will provide live translated closed captioning for you. You can toggle it off from the same menu whenever you need.
